Dogs are family too!  There are so many great places to take your dog in Houston.  Check out some of these amazing dog parks where you and your fur baby can have a blast!

About Each Park

• Millie Bush Dog Park, named after President Bush's Brittany Spaniel, is on the top of multiple lists of best dog parks.  This 15 acre park is located within George Bush Park.  It is double gated and fenced with separate areas fore large and small dogs.  There are three large ponds for swimming and tons of space to run and play.  The park contains fake fire hydrants, as well as dog wash station, picnic tables and walking trail.

• Congressman Bill Archer Park has a fenced space for your puppy pal with separate spaces for the large and small.  The space offers agility equipment, a wash station, shade, benches. It includes a pond on the 17 plus acre space, as well as a walking trail and plenty of room for your pup to run

• Deputy Darren Goforth Dog Park offers a 1.97 mile trail, playground, adult agility area, fishing and picnic area that dogs are welcome in, on leash.  There is a fenced off leash area for man's best friend that allows them access to the lake as well as doggy agility equipment and separate spaces for large and small dogs.

• Danny Jackson Family Dog Park is not aesthetically pleasing to the human eye, but your fur baby won't mind.  It has plenty of space to run and two ponds to keep them busy with separate space for large and small dogs.  There are also benches, a walking path and wash station.

• Beverly Kaufman Dog Park includes separate spaces for large and small dogs, located within Paul D. Rushing Park.  It features shade canopies and doggy cooling stations.  There are also benches and walking paths for you and your pal.  The park also offers doggy water fountains and wash stations.

Houston Family Photographer | Stevens Family

The Stevens Family were a sweet delight to work with! They requested a natural, lifestyle approach to their family portrait session that would allow their little boy to be himself and have fun. I’m so glad they did. The Stevens are the ideal example that a photo doesn’t have to be posed to be perfect.

 About this session

We got every emotion from this little man as he and his parents played and hugged and giggled together. They are smitten with their tiny southern gentleman. Let me tell ya, he’s even more smitten with them. The natural light and the breeze during this session kept everyone happy. And gave us some gorgeous opportunities to capture some truly stunning images. The Stevens literally had a glow about their family throughout our time together. It’s such a beautiful thing when that’s picked up through the lens.There was charm and laughter to spare as they just enjoyed each other in front of the camera, playing football and winning tickle fights. Capturing their family in their natural, easy rhythm together resulted in beautiful memories they’ll treasure for years to come.

Ryder One Year + Family Pics

I had such an amazing time with this sweet family. I have been so excited to be able to share this session with you! This mommy and daddy have 3 beautiful children. Ryder being their last one. Since he is the last baby this family plans to have, they wanted to document his first birthday with updated family portraits. Including some individual photos of their precious baby boy. These folks are seriously the sweetest, and made the session so much fun!

About this session

Ryder is as cute as it gets. His snaggle-toothed smile was seriously the most precious thing I have ever seen! Mom brought a teepee along as a prop, and I love the photos we were able to capture in front of it. Ryder and his two older siblings seemed to have a lot of fun with each other the entire session. The family portraits were absolutely stunning as well, and each of these family members had such natural, bright smiles.

We totally lucked out during this session, because the evening light was truly perfect. Ryder was such a wonderful little guy, and had the most amazing family ever. I feel so blessed to have been able to capture sweet memories for these people, and so grateful for such a magical session!

Houston Fine Art Newborn Photography | Landon

Hello all! If you know me at all, you would know that I love love love babies! Not only do I adore my own children, but working with other little ones never fails to fill my heart with joy. I have been so excited to share this session with you guys. This little client was the sweetest little New Orleans Saints fan on the planet! Landon was just a few days old at the time of this session. And was as cute as can be in every single image!

The Newest Saint's Fan

Landon's family are all obviously huge Saints fans. So his mama brought some great ideas along to incorporate their favorite team into the photos. She had a New Orleans Saints themed prop photo with an adorable hat to match, and a gold belly cast that Landon snuggled inside so sweetly. I loved being able to help her vision of this session come to life, and document these wonderful moments that will forever be cherished.When it comes to newborn photography, the additional of textural elements truly add a beautiful depth to the collections. My favorite from this session were the images of Landon, curled up in a mustard yellow swaddling blanket, accented with pops of deep teal and natural elements. Swoon! How gorgeous is this little guy?!Landon was so precious, and slept nearly the entire time. From the New Orleans Saints themed photos, to the simple traditional swaddling photos, I am so thrilled with the outcome! Welcome to the world, little Landon, and Go Saints!

Luxury Maternity Photography in Houston, TX | Natalie

Being a pregnant mama is one of the most rewarding experiences one can go through. I am currently expecting a precious child, and it is something I wouldn’t trade for the world. One of my favorite parts of this time in my life is being able to share my excitement with my other children. Letting them feel the baby kick, having them pick out toys and outfits. It all is just so fun for the whole family. That’s why when this mama contacted me, I was so excited! Getting to be a part of documenting special memories for families is exactly why I love my job.

Meet Natalie, a gorgeous mommy who is expecting another little addition any week now! We did Natalie’s session outside in the wonderful city of Houston. The outcome was beyond lovely – gorgeous evening light, a beautiful family, and great company. Natalie borrowed a couple of gowns from my studio wardrobe, and wow, did they look stunning on her! Houston Family Fun | Typhoon Texas

Looking for a way to escape the heat of the summer while spending quality time with your family this summer? Typhoon Waterpark is the perfect solution! Typhoon Texas is one of only two waterparks in the Houston area. It is a brand-new waterpark that recently opened in May. Houston Family Fun | The Houston Museum of Natural Science

Are you looking for a fun family outing this summer?  Somewhere indoors to beat the heat, but educational to keep those little minds stimulated? The Houston Museum of Natural Science has something for everyone, big and small.  Not only do they have their permanent exhibits but there are also travelling ones as well. 

Some of the favorite tried and true things to visit include; the Texas Wildlife Exhibit, which includes plants and animals from the seven biotic regions of Texas; the Welch Chemistry Hall and its interactive displays; and Paleontology, containing over sixty dinosaur skeleton mounts, it is one of the largest paleontology halls in the country. 

About the Museum

Do not forget to stop by the Cockrell Butterfly Center while you are there. This three story glass building, filled with live butterflies and tropical plants, is quite the experience for all ages.  This interactive exhibit is one your kids are sure to remember.  The upcoming temporary exhibit is Faces From the Southern Ocean, a selection of photography by J.J. L’Heureux.

The Houston Museum of Natural Science ranks just below New York City’s American Museum of Natural History and M.H. de Young Memorial Museum in San Francisco as most attended, excluding the Smithsonian Museums.

Houston Family Fun | Main Street Theater

If you are looking for a fun experience to bring stories to life for your kids this summer, Main Street Theater is the place for you.  Their Theater for Youth produces engaging, family friendly entertainment based on children’s literature.  Local performances take place in two facilities. Their Rice Village home on Times Blvd. and MATCH (Midtown Arts and Theater Center Houston) on Main Street.  Seen on stage in the past have been such favorites as Junnie B Jones and Stuart Little.  Do not miss Dorothy and Toto. Coming to the stage June 14- July 30. The classic that every child should experience, The Wizard of Oz, is sure to be a winner with your youngster.

Looking for fun and free? Check out the Page to Stage Book Club with your crew.  This free event allows students to hear readings from a story. And meet characters and other fun activities while there.  The next meeting is Shrek the Musical, Tuesday, June 21 at 2 pm at Blue Willow Book Shop on Memorial Drive. 

Main Street Theater also offers many different Summer Camps for ages 4-18 for your little actor or actress. Multiple locations throughout the Houston Area are offered.  If your child has been bitten by the ever so contagious acting bug, and summer camp is just not enough, they also offer classes and Student Productions.

Whether interested in exposing your family to educational entertainment, fostering a love for the stage or just interested in some story time, Main Street Theater has something for everyone.

The Heights Newborn Fine Art Photographer | Addison

Hi everyone! Hope you are having a fantastic week so far! I am so excited to share this newborn session I had the pleasure of photographing not too long ago. It was right up my alley, and if you are a Star Wars fan, you are going to love it! Addison's mom and I instantly clicked as soon as we started discussing what kind of vibe she wanted for this session. About this Newborn Session

So these super cool parents love Star Wars, and definitely wanted some adorable plush toys to be incorporated in a few of the photos. I'm always excited to incorporate sweet props like these into sessions, especially newborns. It personalizes the collection and always brings the parents such happiness. We decided to dress Addison as Leia, and surround her with some friends to keep her company. This little one was so sweet, and slept nearly the entire time. Mom and dad were so helpful and amazing throughout the session as well. It was obvious that their little girl is the R2-D2 to their C3PO.Everything about this session was so much fun, and I love love love how it turned out. Nothing makes me happier than being able to be creative in so many different ways. This family was so amazing and I am so glad I was able to make their vision of Addison's newborn session come to life.

Houston Milestone Photographer | Happy Birthday Harrison

Oh this precious boy absolutely stole my heart! Just look at that sweet little grin. I have to admit, sometimes I wish I could just snuggle these sweet faces during sessions such as this. But, we had one goal in mind. And that was to capture his sweet personality during this family's life. As Harrison's Houston Milestone Photographer, this was such a sweet treat! He was in such a wonderful mood during his session. It made this bright afternoon so incredibly enjoyable.

About this Milestone Session

This first year of life is so precious. I think that's why I was drawn to this style of photography in the first place. When my kiddo's first made their big debut into our family's waiting arms, I knew I wanted to document each milestone. No mater the size, first smile, first bath, first words, first steps. This first year is just that. A year full of firsts. For new parents, this is an incredible time of growth and learning. And even more so for baby!With every sound, every new sight, little Harrison was soaking up each new interaction. Like a tiny human sponge, the amount of information he is constantly learning is astounding. You could see his eyes light up at every sound. A bug would zoom by, followed shortly by his squeals of delight. I adored working with and spending this wonderful afternoon with Harrison and his sweet mama. After we were done with the cake smash portion of the session, I was so excited to capture some bubble loving images.What a great way to sneak some shots of true delight and get little man cleaned up! I LOVED how this collection turned out. It's easily one of my favorite first birthday sessions to date for me as a Houston Milestone Photographer!

Be still my heart! This sweet boy was so alert throughout his whole session. With most little ones of his age, they are super sleepy, but not Forrest! Although he was awake, he was such a little trooper for his newborn session. It truly was such a treat to be his Houston Newborn Studio Photographer!Just take a peek at those eyes and that hair line! Oh my word have you ever seen a more adorable widow's peek?! When talking to his mama while planning this session, we knew we wanted to utilize plenty of masculine neutrals and she mentioned adding in some various textural pieces! Mama's really do know best, because this session was a delicious slice of textural heaven! I LOVE the way the roughness of the burlap and the chunky knit cable blankets contrasted so well with Forrest's delicate features. Swoon!!All in all...Take one part sweet baby boy, add in two loving doses of adoring parents and sprinkle in a tiny Teddy. You have all the makings for a perfect newborn session! Houston Milestone Photographer | Tessa

Wow! One year old already! This sweet girl was on a baby plan with me as her Houston Milestone Photographer, and I have really enjoyed watching her grow over the year. It is so much fun seeing all of the new things she has learned from session to session. They grow up so fast, and that’s why mom knew it was important to capture every milestone of her first year, so they could smile back on it for many years to come!

About this Session

We completed her last session from this plan at the Houston Studio in downtown to create a different look. The first part of this session was a tea party theme to celebrate her birthday. I had a blast making the tissue paper flowers hanging on the walls. Doesn't it really make for a girly floral affect!?I could never forget this little princess and all of the laughs she has given me this past year! One of my favorite memories is how every time her mom would recite the words from the book Pout Pout Fish her sweet smile would light up the room! I am so thankful that I was able to capture so many heartwarming moments for this family! I hope to see little Tessa again soon!

Houston Family Fun | Kemah Boardwalk

Ok... I know this isn't technically in Houston, but who's down for a little road trip!? A twenty mile road trip to be exact. The Kemah Boardwalk is an amazing place to enjoy some family fun [near] Houston. It's is open daily providing fun for any age and all family members! Located just 20 miles from downtown Houston, the Kemah Boardwalk is home to fabulous waterfront restaurants, amusements, charming retail stores, festivals and seaside shows every day. In other words, the perfect escape for summer's day away, basking in sea-side sun and your family's company.From experience, I know how much the little ones love the rides and carnival games. And there's plenty of fun in store for the adults in the crowd, too! Check it out!

Anything that has my kiddos asleep in 3 minutes flat is a win in my book! I love to watch them play their heart outs <3Personally, my favorite exhibit is the EcoStation. We only get one planet, and it really is so important to teach our little ones to take care of it. Especially from a young age! Read for yourself all the fun goings-on!"EcoStation is an active, outdoor/indoor environmental exhibit where visitors engage in ecological studies and explore environmental issues by visiting a native plant garden, woodland area, pond and a research pavilion. Houston Family Maternity Photographer | Ellis Family

I'm so excited to share this session with you all! Megan and I have been friends for a few years now. I know her from before my full-time photography years when we were teachers together. Watching her family grow has been one of the most rewarding things I have done as a Houston Family Maternity Photographer. During their first pregnancy, I was lucky enough to be their maternity photographer. Obviously, when she approached me about her second pregnancy, I answered with a resounding, "Yes!!"We decided on an outdoor session, which I loved! They are just so natural in front of the camera, so the setting seemed perfect. Watching little man kiss her belly and try and sneak some "all-organic" snacks throughout the session made me laugh so hard! What a cutie pie!They are excitedly expecting their second boy. Yay! I can only imagine how crazy life will be with two little ones running around. I'm so happy that they took the time to not only celebrate the upcoming arrival of their second son, but to celebrate the time that they have left with their first little man as their only child. Life is all about growth, and this gorgeous family is growing! It's always a blast when I get to work with them.

About the Downtown Aquarium

I love walking through all 8 exhibits they have to offer. My favorite has to be the white tiger exhibit and the newly opened stingray reef. My little ones love exploring through the Louisiana Swamp exhibit. Or spending time in the education room where they can get up close and personal to a wide assortment of animals. I'll never forget their squeals of delight as they reached in and touched a real starfish. Watching their eyes light up in excitement as they learn and explore is such a sweet treat for me to see!Spending afternoons in their adorable company is so incredibly important. I know one day they'll be too cool to want to spend the day with me looking at all the Nemo fishies. So for now, I'll treasure their precious giggles and capture as many memories with them as I can!

Sounds pretty wonderful, right? It is! As a Houston Family Fun photographer, I love planning sessions at this idyllic location. It provides such a wide variety of atmospheres and backgrounds so that I can easily capture an eclectic collection of images in one session.

The best thing about Discovery Green though, is how much my kiddos, and the kiddos that I get the opportunity to photograph here love it. You can see their eye's widen as the excitement flashes across their sweet smiling faces when we pull up. Love love love those happy babies!

Nestled in a 12- acre green space in the heart of Houston, lies this urban paradise. Between the Gateway Fountain splash pad, the John P. McGovern playground, Hagstette Family Putting Green, and multiple concert stages and art exhibits, there's literally something for everyone.

Houston Fine Art Studio Newborn Portrait Photographer | Baby S

This little girls is such an absolute bundle of joy! We loosely snuggled her up in various swaddling blankets, and let her do her thing! Baby S slept so peacefully for the majority of the shoot. But we were lucky enough to catch her giggling for some extra special images. The floral headband complimented her delicate body perfectly. It was just enough without distracting from her precious smile. Time can get away from us so quickly, so I am so happy that I was able to capture this moment forever while she is still so little bitty, as her Houston Fine Art Studio Newborn Portrait Photographer. !It was amazing to watch this family interact with one another, and see the love that overfilled that room created pure magic. You could tell that their world was finally complete when they held her in their arms. It’s so funny how such a little person can completely flip your world upside down. It was obvious how much joy she has brought them already! I hope to get to follow up with this family in the future, and maybe even see little Miss S for her one-year birthday shoot!
