Wow! One year old already! This sweet girl was on a baby plan with me as her Houston Milestone Photographer, and I have really enjoyed watching her grow over the year. It is so much fun seeing all of the new things she has learned from session to session. They grow up so fast, and that’s why mom knew it was important to capture every milestone of her first year, so they could smile back on it for many years to come!

About this Session

We completed her last session from this plan at the Houston Studio in downtown to create a different look. The first part of this session was a tea party theme to celebrate her birthday. I had a blast making the tissue paper flowers hanging on the walls. Doesn't it really make for a girly floral affect!?I could never forget this little princess and all of the laughs she has given me this past year! One of my favorite memories is how every time her mom would recite the words from the book Pout Pout Fish her sweet smile would light up the room! I am so thankful that I was able to capture so many heartwarming moments for this family! I hope to see little Tessa again soon!

Houston Child Portrait Photographer | Ivy Turns Two!

Big birthday wishes to Miss Ivy who just turned 2 years old! I have had the pleasure of working with this family for three years now, and it’s always one of the biggest highlights of my year. They are the most adorable family, and are always so stylish. I always look forward to being able to see all of the fun outfits that they come up with for their photo shoot. The love that this family has for one another creates such a sense of pure magic throughout every single session that we share together, and this one is no exception! What a treat for this Houston Child Portrait Photographer!Little Ivy had so much fun with all of the props, which made me even more excited to see the results!  One of my favorite shots was with the giant swan, we were really able to capture her sweet and sassy personality, but it was pretty obvious that Ivy’s favorite part was being able to have that lollipop all to herself!We took these photos at Sugar and Cloth color wall, which is sadly no longer in existence. I am so thankful that I got to shoot some breathtaking photos there before they tore it down. As you can see, it was a great place to capture some vibrant photos. This was the perfect backdrop for a toddler’s birthday session!

Isn't motherhood so sweet? Your children are the brightest stars in your sky. The only thing that matters. And it all starts with that incredible moment of realization...you have a little angel on the way! I remember when I found out that I was pregnant with my sweet little Penelope, and the excitement that followed. One of the most fun parts for me was getting to share this precious moment with my son, Jensen. I absolutely could not wait for him to meet his little sister! Needless to say, I was thrilled to be a part of this exciting time in Cheryl's life as her Houston Fine Art Maternity Portrait Photographer.

About this session

I had the opportunity to work with this mama and her sweet family for a maternity session a while back and I could not be happier with how it turned out! We did this shoot in my private field south of Houston. The love that flowed so easily between them was so beautiful and such an honor to capture! Seeing this little boy curled up and smiling next to his mama's belly was such a heart warming thing for me to watch through my lens.Mama wanted in incorporate a neutral look for her last outfit change. So we used a simple piece of fabric to giver her an organic look for her last belly portraits, and the result was stunning. With beautiful wild flowers all in bloom, a gorgeous golden sunset, and an even more stunning family, the shoot could not have gone any better!

Outdoor Houston Tx Maternity Photographer - Shannon

You can’t tell, but literally less than one hour before we were able to get these shots, it was pouring cats and dogs! I was super nervous that we were going to have to reschedule the session, but Shannon (this gorgeous mommy-to-be) had already had her hair and makeup done so we decided to wait it out. Thank goodness we did, because these pictures really did turn out amazing! Houston is notorious for flooding, thanks to a less than ideal drainage system, so we had to change locations from my usual go to spot to this empty golf-course unless we wanted to get some underwater shots. I love being pushed out of my comfort zone...that’s when the magic happens! I might actually try and use this spot more often since these pictures came out so well.  I have a newborn photography studio in Pearland, but often I get to be one (of many) Outdoor Houston Tx Maternity Photographer.  For this session, that's exactly what we did!This session was full of happy little bits of serendipity. Because we had to wait a bit to start the session, it ended slightly later than initially anticipated. What a wonderful thing to have happened! Just look at that sunset we were able to capture! How perfect is that soft golden light kissing her darling baby bump?!As a photographer, one of the best tools I can have in my arsenal is flexibility. Without it, I would missed out on the opportunity to get what I think are some truly stunning shots of this breathtaking mama-to-be and her sweet husband. Yay for silver linings!

Pearland Senior Photographer | Savannah

Savannah here was a senior at Pearland Highschool last year. This session was particularly memorable because of the way her and her mom worked together to style this session perfectly. She had her hair and makeup expertly styled at Sunkissed and Made-up. We did three full outfit changes altogether, not including her cap and gown. The various colors and textures really did add such a depth to Savannah's senior portraits. With a model this beautiful, what fun it was to be her Pearland Senior Photographer!When it comes to senior portraits, I like to have variety in the backgrounds we work with. Savannah looked stunning in front of what ever setting I placed her in, so we tried them all! What troopers her and her mom were! I particularly love the distressed brick wall we found. The stark contrast between the weathered surroundings and Savannah's bright beauty worked so well together. When we got to the flower-filled field, Savannah looked absolutely stunning amidst the bouncing natural light. We both knew we wanted to get a super adorable glitter shot, and this was the perfect place to capture it!I love getting to be a part of a time that is so incredibly important to not only these seniors, but to their parents. Not only are the kids about to embark on what is going to be one of the most fun and exciting periods of their lives, but their parents are about to start a new chapter as well. While this is a bound to be time of excited celebration for everyone involved, it is undoubtedly an emotional time as well, especially for two this close as Savannah and her mom. It is my hope that these images act as a reminder for both of these beautiful women, of a wonderful afternoon spent together, celebrating and embracing the new chapter of each other's journey.Check out more beautiful seniors like Savannah on our blog!

What an amazing start to 2017 it has already been! I'v already been so lucky to have been blessed with such amazing clients, and it's only March! The simple fact that I get the chance to meet and build lasting friendships with so many people because of this amazing profession of mine makes my heart so incredibly happy. The experiences and memories I have made through this path have forever left a sweet mark on my heart. As a Houston Natural Light Baby Photographer, I know how incredibly blessed I am and just want to take a moment and say, thank you. Thank you to all my clients that make this dream of mine a reality. Thank you to my family for the constant support and endless shower of love. From the bottom of my heart, I truly treasure each and every one of you.It's little ones like Piper and Luke, that makes this Houston Natural Light Baby Photographer's heart squirm with delight at the thought of capturing their adorable beauty! Piper is one of my baby planners from 2016, so I have had the immense pleasure of watching her grow into the happy little 6-month old baby she is. So incredibly sweet, a perfect reflection of her kind and gentle parents. I wanted to approach this session as a 6-month milestone/family session to really capture the love and beauty that is this family. Houston Natural Light First Year Photographer - Sweet Little Daisy

 Oh my gracious guys…. This girl. How in the world could I possibly begin to express how incredibly adorable this little princess is?! As a Houston Natural Light First Year Photographer this session made me absolutely swoon! I love when sessions turn out as truly stunning as this one did. We were able to get so many adorable candid shots of Daisy at such a fun age. So many fun moments from the session, and such cooperative lighting that day! Between the ruffled tutu, vintage jumper or big-brother cuddles, there’s no way I could possibly pick my favorite! We approached this session as more of a lifestyle session and just let her do her sweet little thing. I wanted to start the session with her big brother so that she could get acclimated to her new environment and have the confidence to strut her sassy little stuff. Let me tell you, Miss Daisy did not disappoint! When it comes to this age, as a Houston Natural Light First Year Photographer, I have found that I really like to try and let them run the show. If she wanted to jump up and down, we jumped! When she wanted to cuddle, by George we cuddled! Houston Fine Art Maternity Photographer - Edna

Have you ever gone through images from your past?  When you do, do memories come rushing to you?  The smell of the house that the picture was taken in, the way it was decorated (beautiful to you despite how dated that image looks these days to others), the sounds that were going on around you.  It's incredible what one image that you hold in our hands can create.  In your heart, in your mind, and the tangible memory that just a single portrait can do for you.  I met Edna and her sweet family back in May.  Being a Houston Fine Art Maternity Photographer, my goal is to create these tangible memories for each one of my clients. 

What do these documented memories look like?

Perhaps these memories will be for big sister.  The way her mom looked that evening when we did this session.  Having two kids of my own, I can completely relate to the feeling of extra weight, love wrinkles, some on my hips, some on my thighs and on some days... just not feeling beautiful-especially because of how quickly our bodies change during pregnancy.  But good heavens, the way that her oldest looked at her that night.  I think in that moment, big sister thought her mama was the most beautiful woman to walk the face of the earth.  And I agreed that night.  But those looks.  They demand to be documented.That happiness, the smell of the new summer blooms, the sound of the crickets, those annoying mosquitoes that aggravate nearly everyone, but the laughs we all got from it, and the pats coming from mama's tummy of a new life that soon will be earth side.Let me not forget the daddy!  They seem, sometimes, to get lost in the hustle and bustle of this new baby and new everything.  I will never forget the way that my husband looked the day he met my kids for the first time.  He explained to me that the tears that rolled down his face each time, were not only pure and perfect love for my children.  But that they were overwhelming sense of relief, happiness, and of course love.  Love.  Dad's provide safety and a love that is immeasurable and like no other.  Very unique to a man, but very needed.I am so grateful I played this part in this documentation of this part of their lives.  I hope sweet Edna and her beautiful and perfect family cherish these memories for many years to come. <3

Houston Maternity Session

I hope that everyone's week is going well and I am so happy to get back to blogging.  I got a little behind to spend time with my babies and sweet husband over the weekend, but I wouldn't let it get me TOO far behind.  I understand how important it is for clients to not only see my newborn work, but also my Houston Maternity Session previews!  :)  I also strive to keep my content up to date and fresh, so that my clients can witness my growth.  It's super special to be able to grow as an artist and entrepreneur, and I am just lucky to be able to document all that beautiful growth!  Now, onto this awesome natural light Houston session!Meet Shayla and that glorious baby bump of hers.  Such a sweet and beautiful mama.  Motherhood is amazing, and she sure does wear it well.  We also made the focal point of this session about the big brother twins.  We had so much fun, but I sure had my work cut out for me with twin boys.  The best kid of work, that is! <3  It can be hard to expect a two year old to follow instructions, so its best to just go with the flow and let them have fun!  The results will mean so much more when you capture REAL life and let them be themselves.  It's one of my favorite things about documenting all these beautiful Houston Maternity Sessions, and I find that those are the images I cherish most.I have known this family for several years.  I had the honor of first working with them for their first maternity session when mom & dad were expecting twin boys!  I also photographed their newborn session and that was a huge milestone for me as it was my very first twin newborn session.  I am thankful they reached out to me to document their pregnancy and newborn session with baby #3…a sweet and gorgeous baby GIRL!We did this session last May and mom really stressed that she wanted to avoid the Houston heat.  My good photographer friend Catherine Lubbat has an awesome studio location in downtown Houston, and she was gracious enough to let us use this as our location for their indoor maternity session.  The clean white walls, stained concrete, and sheer window coverings create for a dreamy yet clean palate for sessions in this location.   And I absolutely LOVE the results!

Houston Maternity Session

Another Beautiful Houston Senior Photographer session is on the blog today!  Gosh, shooting these senior photography sessions just are so much fun and get me out of my comfort zone of being a Newborn and Baby Houston photographer.  Meet Morgan!!  Morgan is a senior that I shot in my favorite field location in Houston and a quick stop by an urban location in Pearland.  We dressed her session with maroons and lots of other relevant and trendy clothes.  We worked together to choose her outfits and style her session.

Being a Beautiful Houston Senior Photographer I was pleased that I was able to style this session to be able to capture her youth and great sense of style.  The day of her session, she was completely pampered by my super talented hair and make-up artist team to get her looking and feeling photo-ready.   This team is also available for all of my Newborn and Baby Houston clients (mamas).   Every senior session booked with me includes professional hair and make-up by the best team in the Houston area!   We had a great time working together to make her senior session a memorable and gorgeous outcome.

Morgan, from the first time I met her, was always so polite, smart, and so hard working.  And now, she is a senior and about to head to Texas A&M later this fall.  I could not be more proud of the amazing woman she has become.  Smart, gorgeous, talented, one of the best cheerleaders you have ever met…those are just a few of the accolades I could shower on this girl!   So wen mom called me to be their Beautiful Houston Senior Photographer, I was completely honored.

Beautiful Houston Senior Photographer

Newborn and Baby Houston

Happy Hump Day!  Looking forward to the weekend and being able to snuggle my babies!  This session was done at my natural light location here in Houston that I just absolutely love.  Being a Natural Light Houston Baby Photographer, the options are limitless, really, so I find that when I use my favorite locations, my sessions are kind of unique to me.  Since I know the light so well there, it just allows my creativity to flow and really shine.  Any who, enough about me, and more about this session and why I love being a Natural Light Houston Baby Photographer!We incorporated big brother and he was just so incredibly sweet and adorable.  A precious relationship that these two already share that really is special.  We used light blues, pinks, and yellows to style this session.  The colors went so well with the amazing lemonade stand themed birthday party.   We used a few props that I and mom brought along to really allow for the idea of this session stand out.  We used a white bucket, lemons, and fresh flowers.  Mom even brought a full-sized lemonade stand that dad built to the session!    Of course, we also used real lemons and lemonade too! We finished the session with a cake smash and she LOVED the cake.  This was such a fun themed session and being a Natural Light Houston Baby Photographer, it really made my heart ZING! :)  And I love when my clients vision come to life and I can create what they have in their minds.  It was just absolutely perfect.

Natural Light Houston Baby Photographer

Happy Saturday friends!  Kicking off this blog post is the Miller Family. This precious bunch booked me to be their On Location Houston Family Photographer and I was so excited because they were out of state and were here visiting relatives.I just feel so honored that they trusted me enough to do this for them, especially since Houston just has so many other baby and family photographers to choose from. It’s very humbling and I am very grateful. OK! Now for the deets!We went to a local park in Pearland to shoot their family portraits.  This sweet family wore various tones of blue for their outfits. The goal of the session was to document sweet William and to document him turning 1. We even squeezed in a cake smash to just make this session the perfect session to celebrate his first birthday! It was a windy and crazy weather day…it started out sunny, then rained on us with lots of wind, then the sun came back out. We managed to work around the weather to make this a memorable session for their family. We also included some extended family photos with the grandparents and I know they will cherish those images with their sweet grandson.  The highlights from their sweet and perfect  session are below! On Location Houston Family Photographer

Happy day before Friday everyone! I'm prepping the studio for a newborn session but found a little time to blog...still catching up from all the fun in 2015!  I wore the hat of a Houston Baby and Family Photographer for this session.  Have I mentioned lately how much I love my job?We went to downtown Houston for this session and we just had so much fun. I have been photographing this family when they were a family of four and got the privilege to watch them grow to a family of five! Being a Houston Baby and family photographer and seeing these families grow and their babies grow really does make my heart so incredibly happy.In this Houston family session, we incorporated two outfits. The first one, we coordinated white outfits for just the sweet babies and then we added bolder colors for their family portraits. We also used an adorably cute bucket for the baby portraits and stuck to the beautiful scenery that this Houston location had to offer. With all that being said, this one was a bit stressful, actually! Because this sweet family was getting ready to move up north for hubby’s job, we were on a bit of a time constraint. And our original date got rained out but on a very positive note- we happened to get it in just two days before they moved! I was soooo happy I could photograph their family one last time in Houston and to help document their lives at this pivotal moment before a big relocation. I sure so miss them and can’t wait to work with them in a few years after they move back! We also got some of the cutest sibling photos of their adorable children. Highlights are below!

Houston Baby and Family Photographer

Up next on the blog (I am SO enjoying going through these past sessions) is when I got to be sweet Sophia's Houston Baby Photographer. I just loved this session so much because it screams all things GIRL!!We took to my trusty favorite field here in Houston for sweet Sophia’s darling session. With soft girlie tones, pinks, creams, ruffles galore and even a chandelier that we hung in a tree, this session was meant for a princess. We also implemented my ruffle teepee, added some pink balloons and topped it off with fresh flowers. It was just incredibly soft… and as I said before, majorly girlie! I just absolutely adored this session.Another reason that I loved this one so much is that this precious family was from out-of-town. Being a Houston Baby Photographer, I just love having the opportunity to meet these folks from out of town and giving them just a slice of what I am all about. Sophia’s grandparents also joined us for the session and we snapped a few with them too. Houston Baby Photographer

I hope everyone is having a great weekend and enjoying this gorgeous almost spring-like weather. Someone told me the bluebonnets were already blooming….in February! That tells you we have definitely had some warmer weather so far this year. I’m still catching up from all the blog posts from last year and here is another favorite. We did this session in Wichita Falls (we have family there) in March of last year. Having a Houston Newborn and Baby Photography Studio, it was nice to see other parts of Texas and what it has to offer.  It was a simple and fun cake smash/one year and also a fantastic baby #2 announcement!! I was beyond excited when my cousin asked me to photograph her daughter’s cake smash session.   She knew I would be in town a month before her actual birthday and the timing could not have been more perfect.  We also had some seriously gorgeous golden lighting for the evening which made for dreamy images.This session was filled with creams, pinks, and a fun pop of teal green.  It was all things girl-y and it literally could not have been sweeter. I took to my the famous cream ruffled tee-pee and incorporated a Jenny Lind pink rocking chair with flowers.  I was sweet, yet delicate touches to complete this gorgeous one year cake smash session.Being that I shoot mostly in my Houston Newborn and Baby Photography Studio, it was really fun to switch it up here by shooting in a completely new location for me…and if you keep scrolling, you’ll see just how adorable this little family is!!! By the way, baby brother was welcomed by their family in November and is such an adorable little guy, just like his big sister.

Houston Newborn and Baby Photography Studio

Happy Tuesday friends! Is it just me, or is this Houston weather crazy?! As I was playing catch up on my blog, I remembered this particular session being so warm and cozy...I nice change from our crazy weather! When I was asked to be this sweet family's Houston baby and Maternity Photographer, I was thrilled.  This session had all the feels and I just HAD to share it.This session took place in this gorgeous family’s Houston Heights stunning home. With neutral décor and colors, this just really made my job as a bump-to-baby photographer so much easier. Think… greys, tans, whites…. a Houston baby and Maternity Photographer ’s dream come true and neutrals just really make for classic and timeless portraits. Being that this was their first pregnancy the only sibling that we had to include was their sweet and rather large fur-baby. We wanted to keep everything super simple and preserve the emotions that go along with being new parents. We included the book (pictured below) and stayed in the rooms that had that dreamy and ethereal natural light, while focusing on mom and dad. As we all know, pregnancy can be stressful and they may not always go as planned; each and every pregnancy is unique! This session was originally going to take place outdoors but things didn't go as planned with Ashley’s pregnancy and she ended up on bed-rest. When unforeseen circumstances come up, I work to serve each of my clients with the best customer care so that we can still document this special time in their lives. So I packed up my camera gear and took to their beautiful home and did a lifestyle Houston baby and Maternity Photographer session, which has ended up being one of my favorites to date!I was even more excited that they booked my bump-to-baby plan so I also shot their sweet and precious newborn just a few short months later in my Houston studio.I hope all of my fans, fellow photographers, friends, and visitors love this session as much as I do. Houston baby and Maternity Photographer

Happy Friday friends! I hope everyone had a wonderful week and is ready for a lovely Valentine's weekend. I have been going through a bunch of my past Baby Photographer in Houston Tx sessions, trying to organize them, and trying to figure out what to blog next and remembered this sweet session…. Baby Addison’s one year old DONUT smash session!!! Yep, you read that right… she smashed donuts instead of a cake… and I L-O-V-E-D it!!We headed to my favorite field here in the Houston area to do this session. We focused mainly on sweet Addison but also got some family shots in there, too. Mom and Dad loved my ruffle teepee (a client fave), and we also used my mint green children’s chair and just a few vintage styled props. Have I mentioned yet how much I loved this unique baby photography session? I love all the props that we used, including the themed carrier from here, the soft colors of clothing that they chose… the creams… the pinks… the DONUTS, oh my! I just loved every inch of it. Mom wanted to do a cake smash, but without the mess…so she brought a variety of donuts for Addison to “smash”. I loved how different it was but still so incredibly adorable! And much easier to clean too! Win for all! <3  I think being a fine art Baby Photographer in Houston Tx is so much fun, especially for sessions like this!When I reflect on this session, it really makes me feel so grateful. Grateful for these wonderful clients of mine who are just so sweet, and who value documenting these beautiful photography sessions as their babies turn one year old.  I am so grateful that they choose me to be their Baby Photographer in Houston Tx.  And even though some babies are just a little unsure about the crazy/awesome lady with the camera (me), I still manage to get those beautiful smiles, their sweet spirit and capture who they are at such a young age.  And that's what this job is all about folks! ;-)Here are the highlights from this sweet session!

Baby Photographer in Houston Tx

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and I do have to admit, I am happy that we are already almost to the middle of the this week because I love spending time with my two munchkins over the weekend! Just to keep the variety coming what better way to do that then to one of my Houston Family Photography sessions!Meet the Moss family. I first met them during Cannon’s newborn almost two years ago.   It was such a pleasure reconnecting and catching up with them again. Having a gorgeous family to take pictures of tends to make my job a lot easier, because I find that my camera just loves this family why wouldn’t it?  They’re such beautiful people!! ;)  I do love switching it up from time to time from the usual newborn photography and love doing my occasional Houston Family Photography session every now and again!A little about the session: we chose to keep it simple to get the essence and spirit of their family, documenting them just the way they are. The session was primarily focused on the little boys, and it was so much fun because they shared such an adorable bond.  Because of that, it really made this family session an enjoyable experience. Little boys are so much fun to photograph because they tend to find their own knick knacks to find and play with during the session (leaves, sticks, rocks... just little boy things). This family always nails their wardrobe and this time it surely did not disappoint. Houston Family Photography

I feel so blessed to be a Houston Tx Baby Photographer. I especially love doing this job when I have clients who book me for milestone baby sessions during that first year.  I just love watching these sweet babies grow!Ava was turning one when these images were taken, so mom requested that I get some focusing on just her, a few with her big sister Maddie, and also a few family portraits.  Sometimes, being a natural-light family Houston Tx Baby Photographer, can be challenging with our frequent rainy conditions. While it did rain a ton during the days leading up to this session, we were able to work around the puddles and capture this special time for this amazing family.This session was taken at a favorite location of this Houston Tx Baby Photographer.  This session included some of my client’s most requested props. Some worth mentioning are: my cream ruffle teepee, small green chair, and one of my cream dresses from my baby and child studio collection.   Because I am a full service Houston Tx Baby Photographer, I offer wardrobe pieces to my clients to give that organic and timeless touch to each of my sessions.  We also incorporated Ava’s cake smash photography session in this collection.  Since she wasn’t feeling her cake smash, the whole family got involved to create some of my favorite candid family photos ever!Here are the highlights from this one year and family session!

Houston Tx Baby Photographer

I love being a Houston Photographer and since specialize in newborn and maternity pictures, I always find that switching it up for the occasional engagement photo shoot is a great change of pace and really helps my creativity flow in a little bit of a different way. So for this blog post, meet Landry and Gio!!Landry and Gio booked me as their Houston Photographer before they flew off to their destination wedding (jealous!!!). I was so happy to do this for them and loved to listen to their story of being high school sweethearts. They were just such an adorable and sweet couple, and I sincerely hope that they are enjoying their first year of being married.I also loved that they brought sweet Chico (their fur baby) to their session.  We incorporated him into documenting this perfect time for this couple. He was such a loving guy and listened so well. I love to include these personal touches to each of my portrait sessions, as it really helps to show each person/couple just exactly as they are. I also find that when such special things are brought into sessions, it just really helps to loosen everyone up, and also to “break the ice,” so to speak.I really loved the way that Landry and Gio dressed with their vibrant jewel tones for their engagement session. I also was extremely pleased that there was an additional outfit change. This just really helps to give the gallery a more formal, yet casual touch. I found that my navy blue settee went so well with the colors and really made for a unique setting in the forest and with that dreamy sunset that every photographer loves.
