When this mommy-to-be first contacted me about photographing her precious TWIN babies last year, I was soooo excited! I don't get to photograph twins too often, so when the opportunity comes along, I jump on it! Working with twins gives me a chance to think outside the box in terms of posing and incorporating props...while also giving me a little bit of a challenge. Getting two babies calm, sleepy, and posed can definitely take some practice, but as you can see the outcome is worth all of the effort. Mom wanted to stick with neutral colors for their session and I love how it turned out, simple, natural, and timeless. The crazy thing is, these cuties are going to be celebrating their first birthday in just a few months...! I can't wait to photograph them again for their one year session. I hope you enjoy a few of my favorites from their newborn session!
Here's another sweet baby girl session for you to ooooh and ahhhhh over. I had so much fun working her awesome parents and getting to catch up with her mommy during Baby R's newborn session! I know her mom from our Team In Training endurance event training days (think marathons, triathlons, etc)...ha, it feels like a million years ago since I trained for anything! Anyway, when mom told me she was bringing her wedding dress to the session, I was excited. Then she told me it was all lace, and I practically squeeled! Lace, creamy colors, a special meaning...how perfect! I absolutely love how they turned out. Baby girl weighed in at over 8 pounds at birth, so when she came to see me, she was already so chunky and snuggly! And as you can see, she was/is also a gorgeous baby – I even caught the sweetest smile while she was in her daddy's arms…just perfection. Here are a few sneak photos from our session from last year– Enjoy!
This session was something I had in my mind for several months before I actually made it happen last year. I was needing to photograph something that was creative, different than my usual sessions, and just for me. When I started planning, I knew I wanted it to be fun, girly, and with a touch of vintage (anything vintage is an obsession of mine right now!). These two little ladies were the perfect models and a delight to work with! They let me do some "posed" shots, but they also got to play and be themselves as carefree children should. Plus, they had fun getting to dress up and play "princess". :) My awesome hubby made the rope swing for me (thanks honey!), and everything else you see in these images belongs to my ever-growing prop collection...which means all of these props are available to my clients for their sessions, woo hoo! I hope you enjoy a little glimpse into one of my favorite children's sessions.
This Houston maternity session was one of those sessions where you just KNOW you are going to love every.single.image. We had the most perfect sun-drenched evening, a simply stunning mommy & daddy (to-be), a leaf blower to achieve that perfect wind-blown look, and lots and lots of LOVE. I had so much fun getting to know this sweet couple and I know their baby boy is already the center of their worlds. They booked my Baby Milestone Plan but unfortunately I had to miss their newborn session because I was on hospital bed-rest with my sweet Penelope when their baby boy arrived. But, I am super excited to get to meet baby boy this coming weekend when I photograph his "tummy-time" session in the studio! Stay tuned for sneaks of thier adorable little man!!
I had the pleasure of working with Charlotte and her sweet family during her first year of life, and what fun we had! I have been friends with Charlotte's mommy since our days working together in oil & gas at BP. When I heard the news that she was expecting, I was so thrilled and excited for her! I was even more pumped to get the opportunity to photograph their family for all of their baby girl's first year milestones. This session was done right around her four month birthday in Houston and she was full of smiles and personality...and completely adorable I might add! Mom and dad even got in a few photos with her. Many times, the mommy+daddy+baby interacting with baby photos are my absolute favorite! You can totally just FEEL the love! I hope you enjoy a little sneak peek into her vibrant and colorful four month milestone session!
This post is long overdue, but it was one of my favorite sessions from 2014 so it deserved its own blog post. I had the pleasure of photographing this family in their home last year to document their sweet Georgia's 6 month birthday. Mom set up a beautiful nursery perfect for their sweet girl and I had so much fun photographing their family in this lifestyle baby milestone session. I love it when parents have their own visions for a session because it gets my creative juices working and forces me to think outside the proverbial "box". And when you get to photograph gorgeous people, it makes for some gorgeous photos. I hope you enjoy this little sneak peek into this sweet family's life and their pure love for their baby girl. I sure did love working with them!
One of my favorite parts of being a baby photographer is getting to watch my baby clients grow from newborns, to babies, to toddlers. The first year of a baby's life is full of so many changes at rapid-fire speed...it seems like the first year truly flies by! One moment they are tiny little creatures and the next they are walking and diving into their first birthday cake. Documenting these fleeting days of your baby's life is sooooo important! I currently offer a milestone package that includes photo sessions at mutliple stages of that first year of life: (1) a newborn session, (2) a tummy time session, (3) a sitting session, and (4) a standing session. Here is a perfect example of a tummy time session with adorable Camila! She was about 4 months old when these were taken and that is the perfect age to capture your baby's rolls and emerging personality. I am currently booking The Baby Plan Milestone packages for the rest of 2015 so contact me today to book yours!
I'm excited to introduce you to this handsome little man! I had the pleasure of working with this cutie a few months ago for his very first official Houston newborn photography session. He was such a handsome baby and slept so great for his newborn session. We did his session in the my studio located south of Houston and even got a few shots with his gorgeous mommy too! I loved the variety of shots and colors that we used in his session…and check out the adorable fox hat that Brooks modeled for us.☺I have everything we need in the studio for your newborn session; a large collection of hats, bonnets, props, wraps, fabrics, etc. My goal is to make your newborn session as stress free and easy as possible. But I do encourage my parents to bring a family heirloom or a special prop that may to incorporate into their newborn's sessions. Some parents do not want to be photographed during the newborn session, but I highly encourage at least one parent photos. I know new parents are tired during those first few weeks and getting yourself ready photo-ready can be daunting. But I promise you will cherish those images, as they are only little newborns this one time! What a treasure you have to be able to show them how tiny they looked in their mommy's arms as they grow into tiny humans.I hope you enjoy a few sneak peeks! I feel so blessed to get to work with so many precious miracles and pretty families!
I've been away from blogging for the past few months...and I know you've missed me! Adjusting to life with two kids definitely takes a few months but I think we are starting to see the light again! I have soooo many sessions to blog from the last half of 2014 so get excited! This little lady was one of the last newborn sessions I shot before I went into pre-term labor last July. Meet Aubree, a sweet baby girl with some of the nicest parents I've ever met!For baby A's Houston newborn studio session, we focused on sweet girlie tones: dusty pinks, purples, and cream. As my photography evolves, I am finding that I am more drawn to prop shots. A baby in a crate or a bucket makes my heart sing! You will see we used a woven basket, and a crate for this sweet girl's session and I love the way it turned out. And you will notice how gorgeous this girl's mama is! She doesn't even look like she had a baby ever...much less 10 days before these portraits were taken. I truly enjoyed meeting this sweet family and hope to see them again soon.Enjoy a quick peek into this lovely Houston newborn photo session.
I honestly never thought I would have a daughter of my own. All of my life, those silly old wives tale tricks (the necklace test anyone?) said I would be a mom to 3 boys, so I pretty much accepted it and knew I would love every minute of being a boy mom! Imagine my surprise when we found out baby #2 was a girl!! It took me a few days to believe it and really wrap my head around the fact that I would get to enjoy all the fun girlie things like dresses, headbands, princesses, and decorating a sweet & soft nursery. Even while I spent 5 weeks on bedrest in the hospital, I continued to plan all the little details of her room and made it my "job" while stuck in bed. I truly enjoyed every minute! I've never been a huge fan of pink, so I stuck with neutral gray tones and hints of light peach and aqua. I look forward to spending lots of hours snuggling and caring for my sweet girl in this soothing space.By the way, Penelope has now spent 6 weeks in the NICU....but is scheduled to be discharged tomorrow to finally join our family at home! Her original due date was November 6th, so her coming home early was a big pleasant surprise. Being a Houston Newborn Photographer, I am sure you can imagine that I can't wait to get going on her newborn photos!
You may be wondering where I've been lately...to keep this from being an epic long post I'll just give you a quick summary. I was admitted to the hospital for bed rest at the end of July for my water breaking at 26 weeks with baby girl (baby #2 for us). I spent 5 weeks on bed rest away from my family and on Tuesday 9/2 baby girl's heart rate started showing signs of distress on her normal fetal HR monitoring sessions. Within almost an hour, I was being rushed into an OR for an emergency c-section to deliver our sweet girl. It all happened so FAST! She was born at almost 31 weeks and thankfully they delivered her just in time. My placenta (sorry for all the gory details) had started to abrupt and she was in major distress with a very weak heart rate. For the past few weeks, we have been juggling me recovering from a c-section, being back home with my family for the first time in almost 6 weeks, and daily visits to the NICU to visit our sweet girl. In a nut shell, life has been a little crazy! Thankfully baby girl is doing amazing in the NICU and we are so thankful! We expect her to come home close to her due date, give or take a few weeks. I will be taking off the next few months to adjust to life and will be booking limited sessions starting in November and December. I leave you with some photos from our first few weeks of life in the NICU. I got to hold her for the first time last week and big brother got to meet his little sister for the first time as well. Thanks for all of your continued prayers and support! They truly mean the world to us!
This gorgeous Houston maternity portraits session is definitely one of my favorites to date. Beautiful lighting, my favorite field location in the Houston area, stunning couple, and the perfect baby bump...I just loved everything about it! Make-up was done by Alaina Saulsberry at Colour du Jour before our evening sunset session and she really did an amazing job. I know this gorgeous momma from my days teaching Junior High when we had classrooms across the hall from each other. We definitely had some fun that year being hall neighbors! This awesome couple booked me for the Bump-to-baby plan so I also had the pleasure of taking their little man's newborn photos. The Bump-to-baby is such a great way to document two important milestones in a family's life. Maternity photos are best scheduled between 30-35 weeks when a baby bump is nice and established but before the uncomfortable stage of pregnancy begins those last few weeks. I always recommend my mom's have their hair and make-up done for their maternity sessions because you deserve to be pampered! Plus, professional hair and make-up photographs amazing and produces the best images. They recently welcomed their baby boy and his newborn session was equally as perfect...but that will be posted in another blog post, so stay tuned! Here are a few sneak peeks from our session - Enjoy!
Meet three cute brothers and their awesome family of 5 that I recently got to photograph this summer! This mommy happens to be a good friend so I was thrilled when she asked me to photograph her family and kiddos for their annual photo session. Mom wanted a fun summertime session in her very own backyard in South Houston with a focus on letting her children be, well...BOYS. These kiddos showed me all kinds of tricks on their playground, played hard, and had a blast...and there's no better way to wrap-up an outdoor photo/play session than with cold popsicles! Their family photos are some of my favorites as of lately because they were just so loving and natural together. These boys were full of energy, laughter, and ALL boy and made my job as a Houston family photographer super easy! I had so much fun spending a summer afternoon with their family of 5 and I hope you enjoy and sneak into a few of my favorites from their session.
I had so much fun working with this this sweet newborn baby girl. She came to visit me in my Pearland studio at 10 days old and was such an easy and gorgeous newborn to work with. I know mom had a hard time choosing her favorites from the session. I especially love when big brother joined us in the studio for a few sibling shots. I have to say, he's definitely sweet on his new baby sister and it seriously melted my heart. This family is so blessed! Mom loved the new teal colored fabric I had just added to my collection and it was certainly fun for me to try something new with the vibrant color combinations. She also brought in the purple bloomers and matching teal headband. Most of the time I style the sessions before a client arrives so that we can move seamlessly from one pose to the next. It makes the session flow so much smoother! For this session, the mom has some great ideas so I made sure to incorporate her ideas into the session. Here are some of my favorites photos from her Houston newborn portrait session. I hope you enjoy!
I just love and adore photographing Senior sessions. I think you will see why when you read this blog post. I loved every single photo from Morgan's senior session this past spring in League City. Her outfits were perfect, hair and make-up were stunning, and she happens to be going to my favorite college in the fall, Texas A&M University! Whoop!! One of the best things about being a Houston senior photographer is getting to meet these beautiful people are are on the cusp of starting a new journey in life! She will soon be joining the Aggie family and I could not be more excited for her. I had so much working with her for her Senior portrait session. We even threw in a few photos of her and big sister too..who happens to be another Aggie, Gig 'Em! Good luck next year Morgan! Your are beautiful on the inside and out!Taryn Melgoza Photography is a newborn, baby, children, maternity, senior and family photographer located in Houston, TX and serving the greater Houston area. I realized I haven't blogged a full Houston maternity photography session in a while (or ever?!) so it was definitely time to show you some of this gorgeousness. These are some of my favorite sessions to photograph. This couple was not only beautiful, but totally and completely in love and it made my job so much fun! They booked the Bump-to-Baby plan with me so I also got to photograph their little princess a few weeks after their maternity session...that blog post will be coming at a later date! I hope you enjoy a sneak into such an exciting time of anticipation for this sweet couple.
Colt came to visit me in my Houston studio a few months ago and was such a handsome little man! I was so honored that his parents chose me to be his Houston newborn photographer. He was a little bit older than my usual newborn babies at close to 4 weeks old when we did his newborn session, but he still did amazing with lots of great shots. I really enjoyed meeting this family and look forward to seeing them again later this year for his one year session. We incorporated a sports theme into one set up because his daddy loves all types of sports. We also used a few items from his nursery and incorporated his nursery colors into many of the photos. Oh, and you may see a little "12th Man" flag thrown in one of his shots....I always love working with my fellow Aggie clients!Taryn Melgoza Photography is a newborn, baby, children, maternity, senior and family photographer located in Houston, TX and serving the greater Houston area
Meet gorgeous little Camila. I was so excited to meet her after photographing her parents maternity session a few months ago. They are not only beautiful people, but they make adorable babies too! She was just as sweet as can be. We incorporated a family heirloom into her session that her grandmother brought along. The purple blanket was made by a family member so we made sure to use that during the bucket set up. It looks so beautiful with her newborn skin.I love how much variety this session has! My favorite galleries are the ones that incorporate different colors and texture. This session is definitely one that I know her parents cherish! Here's a little sneaky peeky into her lovely Houston newborn photography session.
This baby girl was such a stunning newborn. I seriously did very little editing on her skin because it was really that perfect. And her lips are simply kissable! She did amazing for her very first official photo session. She was such an easy baby to work with and her parents were lovely too. I so enjoyed working with this family and was honored they chose me to be their Houston newborn photographer! She is their first baby so they really wanted to make sure all her little newborn details were documents and preserved. Newborns grow into babies so fast which is why documenting them while they are new is so important. I hope you enjoy a little sneak into this beautiful baby girl's newborn session.Taryn Melgoza Photography is a newborn, baby, children, maternity, senior and family photographer located in Houston, TX and serving the greater Houston area. I had the pleasure of working with this family in late 2013 and am just now getting around to posting their blog post....but its better late than never. My job as a Houston newborn photographer is a dream come true because I get to work with the best people and snuggle babies all day long! This baby girl just so beautiful and perfect. Mom brought the "Allie" name sign from her nursery to use during the session and it turned out to be one of my favorite shots. Congratulations to the G family on the birth of their sweet newborn daughter.
